100 Reasons Everyone Should Use Metformin Studies Included
Most of you follow me for peptides, and I talk about peptides constantly. But today I want to make the case for something I think everyone should be taking, peptides or not. Metformin. I learned a lot of this from Jay Campbell, and I firmly believe metformin is the most powerful life extension drug we have on the planet right now.
Why Metformin Gets a Bad Rap
There's a lot of misinformation about metformin online. I'm not saying everyone spreading it has bad intentions, but a lot of the stuff Jay and I talk about paints a target on our backs. Maybe that's because it actually works.
I can't really make money selling you metformin. It's a prescription drug. You need a doctor for it. And yet talking about metformin, desiccated thyroid, and testosterone draws more ire than almost anything else. It's not something Big Pharma makes much money on.
The biggest complaint I hear is that metformin ruins your stomach. Here's what's actually happening. Metformin is so powerful at remodeling the microbiome that in the first couple weeks it's detoxing nasty gunk from your gut. People rarely make it through the first 14 to 21 days. If you do, the gastric stuff goes away and you feel dramatically better.
I want this to be an open forum. If you have conflicting views, leave them in the comments. I want people to make informed decisions. This is just my side of the argument.

- Enhances gut microbiome (2015). Anyone using peptides for gut health should have metformin in the mix.

- May protect against macular degeneration (2012). A lot of people report better eyesight on it.

My Take
I'll use metformin for life unless I find conflicting evidence. The most common pushback I hear is "I'm not diabetic." That misses the point entirely. The blood sugar piece is one item on a list of a hundred.
Give it 14 to 21 days before you judge it. The gut adjustment passes. What's on the other side of that is real.

Hey, everybody. This is Hunter Williams. I hope you are doing amazing wherever you're at in the world. Today is going to be a little bit of a change up video. Am going be talking about 100 reasons why everyone should use metformin. So as most of you know, you follow me for peptides and I talk a lot about peptide. But today I want to talk about something that I think everyone that whether you using peptize or not should be using. and that is metformin. I firmly believe, and I learned much of this from Jay Campbell, that met formin is likely the most powerful life extension agent that we have on the planet
right now. And that's saying a lot because obviously you guys know I know a There's a lot of misinformation, disinformation, and I'm not saying all of it is bad intended or has bad intentions by some of the influencers that put it out, but today I want to kind of provide a counter to a lots of information around Metformin out on the internet. It seems like for whatever reason, Most of the stuff Jay and I talk about kind of just paints a target on our back and maybe that's because it actually works. And a lot of this stuff out on the internet wants to sell you stuff that doesn't work.
So I can't really make money selling you metformin. It's a prescription drug that you would need to get from your doctor. I have met formin that I use every single day. But for whatever reason, it seems like we kind of paint a target on our backs from talking about testosterone, metformin, and I think most people are kind on board with peptides. No one seems to have a huge thing against peptide. But some of this stuff, you know, Metformins, desiccated thyroid and testosterone it seem to draw ire from a lot of people and it's because it works.
It's not something that makes Big Pharma a lot of money. So I realize I'm probably painting a target on my back with this, and I would like the comment section on this video to be an open forum for people to talk about Metformin. I'd like following this to do one that debunks some of the most common myths around Met formin, but one of biggest things I hear from Met Formin is that people say, It ruins my stomach and it causes gastric upset and all these other things.
And that's usually because in the first couple of days of using that format, it's so powerful at remodeling the microbiome that it is detoxing a lot of the nasty gunk that is in stomach. So people have a bad reaction to it. And very rarely have I seen someone make it through the first 14 to 21 days of using metformin to where that goes away and they actually feel so much better because of the power of met formin. So yeah, there's a lot of disinformation, misinformation, and just different schools of thought on metormin, I'm of this school of thoughts. I think it's the most powerful anti-aging molecule that we have.
Jay is probably the best, Jay Campbell is the probably best use case of someone who's been using it for 30 years almost now in his life to kind of show what it does for your biological systems. But I'm a big proponent of it and I don't want this to be like, if people have on inflicting views on Metform and please leave them in the comments. I want this kind of be an open forum because I wanted people to make informed decisions about what they do. So this is just my side of the argument. Um, I'm not trying to throw shade or be hateful to anyone on the other side. Uh, because there's a lot of people out there right now.
They're saying, you know, Met form is bad for me to stay away. And a lot of people I talk to too, just from going through their doctor, most doctors are not willing to prescribe metformin, which is kind of crazy to me considering some of the stuff doctors aren't willing prescribe. So what I'm going to do today is make my best case for why everyone should be using met formin. And I'll list a hundred reasons why across a bunch of different biological systems in the body. And before I jump in, I'm going to share the screen. Before I jumped in don't forget you can sign up for the peptide cheat sheet.
That's in the link in description in every video. And then there's also the other links that you figure out how to work with me and get in touch with these. So without further ado, i'm gonna share my screen and today we're gonna learn about 100 reasons that everyone should be taking metformin. All right, so I am Hunter Williams, and this is 100 reasons to take Metformin. For better or for worse, let's jump into it. So what I'm going to do in this, is actually to all of these reasons, I actually have a study cited from a journal. Some of the journal titles are abbreviated, but I'll just read out the year.
And then obviously to, if you guys see this on the screen, some people are listening to the audio version via the podcast, you can look up. What I will try to actually do, actually I have all these in a Word document when I was compiling my research. What I should be able to do is include this list and description. It may be too long for the description, but I will do my best. So if you want to look these up, feel free to knock yourself out and just verify what I'm saying. Obviously number one, what is metformin known for? Improving insulin sensitivity.
We discovered that in 1998 in the journal Diabetes Care. Moving along. And I'm just going to kind of rapid fire through these. So number two, lowers blood sugar levels. Obviously goes hand in hand. That was discovered in 1995. And these, trust me, these get increasingly more complex in terms of the benefit that they confer. It also reduces the risk of type two diabetes. No surprise there. Uh, that's from 2002. it may help with weight loss. uh, no surprise. There that from 2005. actually lowers inflammation.
So here we are getting that's in 2013. When we look at inflammation in the body, obviously most people experience lots of forms of inflammation, so it definitely helps lower inflammation Number six, it reduces oxidative stress. Metformin is very powerful in reducing oxidant stress and in today's world, that is perhaps more than the human body has borne than ever because of all the toxins in our environment. Metformin actually enhances mitochondrial function. This is from a study in 2014, conversely to what a lot of the naysayers say on the internet, that it impairs mitochondria function,
it actually enhance mitochondrion function which probably stems from its ability to reduce inflammation. Number eight, it promotes autophagy. So basically autofagie is the process of kind of like cellular fumigation, so to speak, of the body repairing itself. We get autopsy from fasting, but metformin promotes autopsy. If you fast and use met form at the same time, you're really doing well, and that was published in 2014. Nine, oh, we've got to be careful about this one, But it may lower cancer risk. As you know, let me explain this just briefly.
Metformin is very powerful at suppressing inflammation and reducing blood sugar and most tumors feed on glucose, hence why metformins is so powerful and that's from a study in 2010. Reason number 10, it improves cardiovascular health. So a lot of times met formin, you know, is associated with bloodsugar, but it also improves cardio vascular health, that from my study 2011. In doing that, reduces risk of heart disease, as from the study of 2016. Cholesterol so number 12 metformin lowers LDL cholesterol from a study in 2004 which Obviously
as we know is the quote-unquote bad cholesterol. That's kind of an esoteric discussion I'm not going to get into that more or less though lower LDl cholesterol is a good thing 13, this is actually more important as it relates to cholesterol. It reduces triglycerides. So trigyceride are reflective of the inflammatory fat we have in the body. Study in 1999 found that metformin reduces triglycyrides in body, here we go again. This is reason 14, it increases HDL cholesterol, which is our good cholesterol as from a study in 2003. Reason 15, it may improve liver function,
which is obviously very important as it relates to detoxification in the body. Whether you're sick or healthy, everyone could benefit from an improved liver functions. In doing so, and it also reduces the risk of fatty liver disease. So a study in 2002 found it reduces a risk a fatty livers disease, Which a lot of times is associated with alcoholism, but there's a preponderance now of people that suffer from NALF or non-alcoholic fatty-liver disease So it helps with that. It also may lower blood pressure.
So a lot of times, I get a lotta questions actually, especially recently about what can I do to lower my blood blood-pressure? I think if that's something of concern, everyone that has high blood pressures should be on metformin. That's from a study in 2012. Also reduces the risk of stroke. Some of these other reasons I'm gonna get into are going to relate to brain function. Metformins definitely reduces risk of stroke because of what it does for, you know, not only the vascular networks in the body, but, um, blood sugar and, uh, basically blood flow in a body.
Um, 19, it may enhance cognitive function. So this was a more recent study from 2017. It is known to enhance Cognitive function I can definitely attest to that. I feel like I have gotten, no, I know I've gotten smarter since I had used Metformin. Here we go again, reason 20, it reduces the risk of Alzheimer's disease. So that's obviously something I consult and teach a lot of people around is how to optimize cognitive function and stem off neurodegenerative disease like Alzheimer and metformin is probably frontline defense.
Funny enough, because Alzheimer is type three diabetes of the brain. If we never get diabetes, then a lotta times it's gonna be harder to get Alzheimer. It also may slow the progression of Parkinson's disease, which again is a, you know, neuropathic disease. That's from a study in 2012. Improves endothelial function. So basically that means the blood vessels, so metformin helps improve endithelium function, Which again, is going to help prevent against cardiovascular disease is, going help blood flow in the body. It's going, to helps circulate oxygen and nitric oxide around the, body and that's, from my study, in 2005. The funny thing is met form,
and you, know compiling this research met forming is I don't know if it's the most studied drug in the history of mankind, but it is up there, probably in that top five. So there's plenty of data to support this. 23, it reduces the risk of kidney disease. Obviously that's huge, 2008 study. It enhances gut microbiome health study from 2015. And again, this is why I get asked a lot of times about peptides for gut health. While there are definitely some good peptide for good health, Every person looking to use peptides for good health should have metformin with the peptide
or at least before they start using the peptides to help with gut health. 25, it reduces the risk of metabolic syndrome, which is basically just more or less like a combination of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, all these things that lead to terrible metabolism. 26, it may improve lifespan, which is just our age, that's from a study in 2017. 27, and it enhances energy metabolism, Which basically just mean that it enhance how effectively and efficiently we burn the calories we use for energy, That's for my study of 2012. Reason 28, It reduces advanced glycolation
in products which are AGEs. Now this is like more on the cutting edge from the study 2014. AGEs are basically things that accumulate in the body that cause inflammation and are oxidative stress to the bodies. 29, it may protect against age-related macular degeneration. This is kind of like a side benefit I hear from a lot of people when they start taking metformin is that it helps with their eyesight. So that's from my study in 2012. Here we go again, it may reduce the risk of cataracts, which is another problem with people's eyes.
That's from 2014. 31 improves overall metabolic health. You can probably call me on that one. It's closely related to someone we've talked about. Um, 32, this is huge. This is a huge guys. Reduces the risk of polycystic ovarian syndrome, which is PCOS. A lot of women experience PCO S and this actually, thank goodness, you know, in most, even mainstream medicine, they will use metformin to help women with PCOs. And that's from a study in 2001. Also, 33, may enhance fertility in women with PCOS.
So obviously PCS impairs fertility and women and metformin will help with fertility. The list goes on. It's also going to reduce the risk of gestational diabetes, which is, I believe my mom actually had that with me or one of my brothers, but basically a lot of women can become diabetic while they're pregnant. Metformins is going Stem the tie of that. 35 may reduce acne. I just wish I would have had metformin when I suffered from severe acne may even be able to see a little bit of scars in the camera.
From where I had like acne on the sides of my face when I was growing up as a teenager, which was definitely from, you know, probably hormonal a bit, but definitely like from poor diet and everything when i was a teenage. Also probably didn't help I have a football helmet on more than half my life as teenager and early twenties something. But that's from a study in 2012 that helps reduce acne. 36 helps improve muscle function. Um, 37, it enhances exercise performance. And this is kind of funny. So study from 2018, um, that a lot of the critique from that format is around it's, uh, impairing of exercise, performance,
and I think probably there's some truth to that. If you were looking for like that last 3% edge. So, meaning that if I was like an Olympic sprinter and I about to go into the Olympics, I would probably drop the Metformin for a few weeks leading up to that, but I will still use it because of what it does for all these different things. People get into like the IGF lowering discussion that it could potentially lower IG F. I think that's negligible. So maybe if you were in a competition phase of something, you'd want to drop it.
for like a power or speed sport. But other than that, it definitely enhances exercise performance because of what it does for inflammation. 38, if it reduces muscle inflammation, which is gonna help us recover faster, I think in the long run will improve performance. So that's a study from 2013. 39, It may protect against sarcopenia, Which is basically just muscle wasting. A lot of people as they get older, obviously they lose muscle and metformin may protects against that study form 2018. Reason number 40, it improves recovery
from muscle injury. So if we actually have injuries, a lot of people don't realize the importance of insulin signaling as it relates to inflammation around injury, so if you have a traumatic injury or something to the body, like tear, sprain, any of those things, Metformin is going to help with recovery for that. That was in 2018. It enhances bone health, though obviously a lot of people as they age, especially women, they lose bone mineral density. A study in 2012 found that it enhances bones health.
Which leads me to the next one, 42, it reduces the risk of osteoporosis, which is basically just the lack of bone density and decline in bone as people age. Number 43, it may improve sleep quality. So I talk to a lot of people all the time about struggling with sleep and metformin definitely helps with sleeps. A journal in 2017, the Sleep Med Review found that it improves sleep-quality. It also, in doing so, reduces the risk of sleep apnea, which is basically just snoring to the point of not getting good sleep.
That was from a study in 2014. 45, It enhances skin health. A lot of the skin health is connected to gut health. And if we heal the gut, that's going to help a lot with our skin. So that was discovered in 2014 in a study. 46 may reduce the signs of aging, which again is in our appearance. I think everyone, if you want to look younger as you age, definitely use metformin. That's from a site in 2018. It improves wound healing, so if you have a wound, like an open cut or something like that, it's going to help with the recovery
from that. Again, a lot of that goes back to our gut health. If we have healthier gut, the skin will heal and repair faster. 48 it reduces the risk of chronic diseases obviously much of what we talked about is around chronic disease so it obviously helps with that that's from a study in the Lancet from 2015 49 and enhances immune function. So basically enhances our ability to fight off pathogens and infections. Uh, region 50 and we are halfway through it reduces the risk of infections. Again, immune system that was discovered in 2016 through a study.
Um, so very, very powerful at, uh, reducing infection. Here we go. Uh may protect against COV ID 19. I don't want to say that because I could probably get this video flagged. It may even come up with something below this. So I have to kind of encode my wording around that. But it may protected against that old thing that came around a few years ago. And I was discovering it in 2020. Hmm. No coincidence. 52, it improves gut barrier function. Obviously very important for gut health is how permeable or not the gut is in our microbiome.
It reduces leaky gut syndrome. So obviously that's a big thing people will struggle with, especially as relates today from the glyphosate that is sprayed on crops is going to help reduce leky gut that oftentimes result from toxicity in the guts. 54, it enhances nutrient absorption. So it's really going to help with the uptake of nutrients. A lot of times I have to remind people, It's not about how much protein you eat or how many carbs or fats, about much you absorb and how the body can use. You definitely want to look at metformin as it relates if you feel like you're not digesting well.
55, it may reduce symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome or IBS. That was a study done in 2018. Obviously you can kind of see common themes here. A lot of these like gut health issues can kinda be traced back to the same thing, which is like a toxic gut environment, toxic food, not enough physical activity, you know, like regulation of insulin signaling. So all that can be trace back that. It also improves bowel regularity. Anyone that starts it kind of experiences that because most people don't have constipation.
It will kind be the inverse of consti-pation, but definitely helps with bowel regularly and I can attest to that firsthand myself. 57, it reduces the risk of colorectal cancer. I think because of its help with motility and gastric motillity, It helps kind keep our colon nice and smooth. Uh, 58, it may improve mood. Obviously I can attest to this. It absolutely improves your cognitive function and clarity, um, and in doing so it improves mood and I think if we look at a lot of mood dysregulation, It comes from, uh, the insulin roller coaster of going up and down on this insulin, rollercoaster.
And if you can kind of control that it controls your mood variability. So, that's a huge one. That was, from a study in 2017. 59, it reduces symptoms of depression. So this is huge. I think as it relates to depression, much of what is used for clinical treatment and depression is wrong. But what's cool is that metformin, I again, goes back to the insulin roller coaster of our emotions, helps with symptoms with depression and that was a study performed in 2014. Uh, number 60, it enhances mental clarity, kind of like I hinted at before.
Um, this was a study in 2012 in psychopharmacology, um, that enhances, enhances. I think, you know, Jane and I have discussed this before and has doing something in the dendritic pathways in a brain to clear out inflammation. And in doing so, it kind of like allows your brain to have a smoother highway. So imagine like a lot of people's brains as this highway of, you know, neurons and nerves and synapses and everything. And if you've got debris in the highway, the information's gonna have to like swerve around that debris. But if clear out those dendrites, that's going to help with that.
Definitely enhances mental clarity. It reduces anxiety. One thing I deal with on a daily basis with the people I coach is anxiety. Everyone loves the peptide stack for anxiety, 2015 was found to reduce anxiety and again I think it goes back to that insulin signaling as it relates to our mood. Here's 62, I was actually on coaching call last night with some people and someone was like, what's a peptid for ADHD? I've got runaway ADHD. I think a lot of people, if they had ADHD or if have ADHD, metformin would be in my frontline defense.
I probably should make a peptide stack for. ADHD or ADD and include metformin in there, because I think it's very powerful. And that was, again, you know, a lot of these more ancillary or like adjunct treatment or use cases are, have been discovered more recently as, like met form has been studied for alternative things other than blood sugar. In 2017, it was found to enhance learning and memory. So again back to cognitive function as relates to memorizing things, going to help us memorize things. Maybe that's why I memorize stuff so fast.
People that know me, I'm not trying to be like arrogant or anything by any means, but people that knew me like I've always been one of those people. That's just like, has these like the storehouse of random facts. A lot of times to have no service to anyone. Like, you know, if you ever walk in somewhere, it'd be, like Oh, did you that if you're walking along the side of the road, like, oh, did you know that trash makes up this percent of plastic on the planet that's on this planet? So anyway, I carry a lot of random facts in my head just for whatever reason. I read a lots and I remember them. But if want to do so, Metformin, as it was discovered in 2017, enhances learning and memory.
Make sure I didn't skip one. 64 reduces brain fog. Obviously, that's a huge thing. So 2015 was found to reduce brainfog. It also may protect against neurodegenerative diseases. 2016 was discovered to do that. 66 improves nerve function. And kind of like I was talking about with the brain, if you enhance nerve functioning, you're kind like increasing the internet speed in your body, so to speak. Your brain has to communicate to all these other areas of your through nerves. And if you improve nerve function, you're going to exercise better, going feel better. You're gonna have less inflammation. 67 reduces the risk of neuropathy.
So that's a big thing now that people struggle with because of all the diabetes and insulin related diseases on our planet today. Definitely helps with that. That was a study in 2004. 68, here we go for longevity stuff. We're going to roll into some of these. It enhances longevity gene expression. So we look at gene expressions, different DNA expression as it relates to longevity and enhances that. That's from a study in 2016. Here we goes. Activates AMPK, which is AMP-activated protein kinase, basically it's kind of like exercise.
So in a way you could say that metformin is, you know, like a miracle drug, obviously, but it basically signals to the body by activating AMPK that the bodies in that state of exercise, which means that it's kind of like simulating the environment in the of the exercise. So I would never recommend someone do this. But if you don't exercise met form, it can kind kind of say like, oh, we're in a state of exercise, which will obviously improve fat loss and all those other things. So that was a study in 2015. There's a lot of people that will say, like if they have like an AMPK activating supplement,
that it's like exercise in the bottle and Metformin has that. Reduces mTOR signaling. So this is where it also gets a bad rap too from like the performance enhancement community, because obviously to create anabolism or growth, you would want to activate mTor or increase mtor signaling, which is what happens when we eat. If we ate, we signal mtor which creates growth in the body, but metformin decreases that. I think there's ways to overcome this, But in a long run, if you look at health and longevity, We want a reduced m-tor signalling and met form is very
powerful in doing that, as from a study in 2016. In 2016, another study found that it enhances cellular repair mechanisms as it relates to broken fragments of gene expression in the cell. It helps with that. 72, I've talked a little bit about this, this idea of cellular senescence. Basically, senesis in short form means that you have zombie cells in body, which are basically cells that should have died, but they're not, and then they end up causing diseases of any sort you can kind of take that and run with it because I don't want to say another word that
would trigger this video but it reduces cellular senescence basically which means we clear out zombie cells from the body 73 it improves DNA repair again like I mentioned that before we've got cellular pair and then even down At a smaller level than that, we have DNA repair and that was discovered in 2016. 74, it enhances stem cell function. I'm not going to go into an esoteric discussion on stem cells in this video, but a lot of people are not getting the best results from stem-cells lately, and we could speculate as to why that is. But if we can help the body with its own natural stem self-function with antiformin, that's going provide a ton of benefit to us from a study in 2012. 75
reduces the risk of atherosclerosis, which is heart disease. It's pretty self-explanatory. And it enhances arterial flexibility, Which is really good. Again, if you think about heart diseases, it's the calcification of the arteries, and we help with flexibility to keep those arteries pumping blood for the long term. That's from a study in 2017. It reduces the risk of thrombosis, which I'm not a doctor, but it's basically just kind of like, you know, a blockage or a clot inside the artery. It's from a study in 2014. 78 improves microcirculation.
Obviously micro clotting is a huge issue for today and I'll let you kind use your imagination as to why that is, it improves my micro circulation which is very good for our blood. It reduces the risk of peripheral artery disease, which is obviously good as it relates to blood flow in the body. It enhances detoxification pathways, basically it just means that our body is much better able to detox. Think about metformin. If our bodies had a filter, met formin helps keep that filter clear to keep our detox pathways from getting clogged up.
That's from a study in 2014. It reduces heavy metal accumulation. So I think in the last five years, we've probably had an explosion in heavy medal accumulation in body. A lot of people's dis-ease actually is probably more from heavy metals in their body, and we just don't realize it. And if they got a heavy-metal test done, they would probably have that. Metformin helps that from accruing in a body which is huge, which leads me to the next one. It improves liver detoxification. Obviously, I said earlier it improves the liver function, but it also improves ability of the livers to detox better.
It reduces the risk of gallstones, which is obviously huge. That's from a study in 2000. It enhances bio flow, Which is obvious use. Um, it reduces. The risk. Of pancreatitis, um, study from 2014 found that, Um it improves overall hormonal balance. So again, if we look at the body's natural hormone symphony, uh, when we reduce the inflammation and regulate insulin signaling, that's actually going to help all of our hormones become more balanced. Uh, It. Reduces the. Risk of endocrine disorders. Again, That relates to hormone function in the Um, and it enhances thyroid function.
So like I mentioned before, if we were using metformin plus desiccated thyroid plus, you know, testosterone, If you're a man or testosterone estrogen progression, depending on if you are a woman or whatever, uh, it's kind of like this symphony that's working really, really well together. The met formin makes the thyroid work better. That thyroid makes that testosterone work. And it is like, this big circle of life that all kind like works in a symphony together, um, 89 reduces the risk of hypothyroidism, which is basically just low thyroid. It enhances adrenal function.
A lot of women, men too, but a lot women because of just the nature of woman's physiology and psychology, they tax their adrenal so much so that they're basically just shot adrenally. Metformin is going to help with adrenal functioning which is gonna restore their energy levels. Which leads me to the next one, 2007. It was found to reduce the risk of adrenal fatigue, which is what I was just referring to. Um, it improves overall vitality. So basically just like your life in general, I think everyone would say they want to be vital in the sense that they wanna be awake and alive and enjoying it.
And enhances the quality of life. it's kind of funny. They did a study on that, but it did, uh, you know, come back that it enhanced quality life that was from 2012. reduces all cause mortality. And as we get closer to the end here, I think all of these things together, you could say, yeah, that's going to reduce all-cause mortality, it enhances stress resilience. So this is pretty cool because a lot of people get anxiety or they get autoimmune disease or whatever, because they can't handle stress. What's really cool is to be able to look at your life and see stress as something that is there, but you can handle it.
Stress that we can handles good, stress that you cannot handle ends up being bad and causing disease. So in 2016 it was found to enhance stress resilience. It reduces the risk of chronic fatigue syndrome or CFS. That's from 2010. And enhances overall well-being. I would think everybody would agree that's a good thing. Uh, it reduces healthcare costs. So here's what's funny. Metformin is relatively cheap, you know, wherever you get it from. And they actually did a study that found in 2014 that if you use metformin, it's going to reduce the healthcare cost of your lifetime.
So like they can take data and look at someone that has been using met formin and know that their healthcare costs over the lifetime of their use is going be reduced. So if anything, if you didn't like those other 97 reasons, know that it's going to reduce the amount you spend on your healthcare because of what it is going do for you. And then this is obviously to have people that aren't doing everything else right. This is just the general population that a lot of times doesn't diet or exercise. So it improves health span, which is basically just lifespan adjusted for how healthy you are.
If you're a hundred years old, but you live from the age of 65 to a 100 in a decrepit state, no one would say that's probably a good thing. but I'd rather be 85 years old and be active until the day I die than be 100 years and spend 35 years of my life in a wheelchair or inside. So that's from 2016. And finally, the last one is it enhances longevity. To go with HealthSpan, it basically enhances Longevity, that from 2015, which is like longevity, think of that as, I know it gets bantered around,
but it's like how... I like to think it was like living long and living strong. So it's one thing to live long, but it is another thing that lives strong and to do that your whole life. And I think that's what I, you know, kind of a spouse when I talk about longevity. So that is it for the slides. That is a hundred reasons everyone should use metformin. I know this was a little bit of longer video, But hopefully it was enlightening to you. If you have been one of the people that are kind entrenched against met formin, hopefully, it provided some new insights to and if you were neither, not on one side of fence, Um, and this is the kind of the first you're hearing about it.
Hopefully this was a convincing case for you. At least try metformin. Um I always tell people, you know, like I said, give it 14 to 21 days to really start and kick in. But, um, a lot of times met formin is when people hear me talk about that, they're like not for diabetes. I'm not diabetic. And it's like, well, yes, but it also does all this other stuff. That's what I love about. It I will use met for men for life, until I find conflicting over the unless I find conflicting evidence otherwise. But I think for me in terms of inflammation in my body and mind, it's been a powerful, powerful reducer of that inflammation.
So like I said with the comments for this one, I know I'm painting a target on my back and a lot of people love to attack people that talk about the benefits of metformin. Hey, how about it? Attack it. I want this to be something that's beneficial and probably as much of what I talk about and, you know, Jay and I talked about is counter to what's out there. So, hey, if you are a believer in metformin and you hear your doctor or, somebody else share this video with them and say like, Hey, well, I know you didn't, weren't a fan of met formin, but maybe you can watch this and just kind of like change the way you think.
And I think with my videos, Go in a direction like I want to do stuff that like actually teaches and helps people and a lot of people. It's sad you look on the internet and this is just a reflection of humanity and it's more of like this contents that's there just for like passive consumption and I'm not saying I don't do that. Like I've watched, you know, a movie or a TV show on occasion. But when it comes to like the majority of the content we consume, I want to, like, orient my stuff, or my life to be around learning. And I wanted my content to a reflection of that, so it's so funny, all the fitness influencers that like make these videos,
whatever, they're just even making videos about other fitness influences and people have channels like that I want mine to be like, you know, like teaching material.
