BPC-157 - The GOAT Peptide? A Comprehensive Use Guide

2026-03-29 · 17:55 · 4 min read

BPC-157 might be the most useful peptide out there. It heals injuries, calms inflammation, supports gut health, and even helps with mood. Here's everything you need to know to get started, including dosing, reconstitution, and what to stack it with.

Where BPC-157 Comes From

BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide made of 15 amino acids. It's derived from a protein found in human gastric juice, meaning we already produce it in our own stomachs. Research started in the early 1990s, so it's one of the OG peptides.

It was originally studied for its healing properties, which is what most people still use it for today. You won't find BPC-157 in food or as a dietary supplement. You have to use it as a peptide, either by injection or orally. Injections are more effective overall.

How BPC-157 Works

BPC-157 promotes angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels. That's huge for healing because it gets oxygen and nutrients to damaged tissue.

It also influences growth factors that repair muscles, tendons, and ligaments. It protects organs against toxin damage, which matters because we're all swimming in environmental toxins. I personally think everyone should be running BPC-157 as a baseline prophylactic for that reason alone.

It modulates the inflammatory response, supports collagen synthesis, and stabilizes gut integrity. If you take it orally, it works wonders for the stomach and intestines.

The Brain and Mood Benefit Nobody Talks About

This is the part I keep beating the drum on. BPC-157 positively affects neurotransmitter systems.

People are inflamed today, and that includes the brain. Brain inflammation drives a lot of anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. As someone who had multiple concussions earlier in life, I can tell you BPC-157 has been amazing for clear-headedness and mood.

I notice my best, most clear-headed weeks are when I'm running BPC-157. Mental health issues are everywhere right now. This peptide deserves way more attention for that use alone.

What BPC-157 Helps With

  • Muscle and tendon healing
  • GI disorders, leaky gut, IBS, Crohn's, ulcers
  • Skin burns and wound healing
  • Dental health (I haven't been to a dentist in years)
  • Neuroprotection and brain inflammation
  • Depression and anxiety driven by inflammation
  • Heart health through better oxygenation
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Sports injuries and surgery recovery

I've watched people heal from sports injuries 30% faster, sometimes in a third of the normal time. In a lot of cases it helps people avoid surgery entirely. If you're told you need surgery on a torn ligament or tendon, try BPC-157 first. Worst case, it doesn't work and you're no worse off.

Side Effects

BPC-157 is generally well tolerated. I know people who have used it for years with zero issues.

Some people report mild GI discomfort, which I think is often the body cleaning out inflammation in the stomach. That can produce mild detox-like symptoms.

Injection site reactions can happen with any peptide. A little burn for a few seconds, maybe a small red bump, all transient.

The one real consideration is antibody buildup. If you run any peptide for too long, your body builds an immune response and the peptide becomes less effective. That's why you cycle on and off. For BPC-157, I'd cap continuous use at about 12 to 16 weeks before taking a break.

It hasn't been approved by regulatory bodies, partly because you can't patent a natural amino acid sequence. No money in it for big pharma.

Dosage

Standard dose range is 250 mcg to 1 mg per day. You can split it into multiple doses throughout the day.

For general inflammation and prophylactic use: 250 mcg per day. Keep it low, keep your receptors fresh.

For active injury, post-surgery, or torn tissue: 500 mcg up to 1 to 2 mg per day. Start higher when you actually need the healing response.

Oral doses run similar, typically 250 to 500 mcg.

How to Reconstitute BPC-157

You'll usually get a 10 mg vial. Add 2 mL of bacteriostatic water. That gives you 5 mg per mL.

  • 5 units on an insulin syringe = 250 mcg
  • 10 units on an insulin syringe = 500 mcg

Very small volumes. You can use more or less bac water if you want, but 2 mL is easy math.

When to Use It

  • Athletes recovering from injury (check your sport's regulations)
  • GI distress, even undiagnosed digestive weirdness
  • Post-surgery or pre-surgery prep
  • Skin burns
  • Dental and oral health
  • Mental health and brain inflammation
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • General anti-aging

If I ever had surgery scheduled, BPC-157 would be at the top of my list both before and after.

What to Stack with BPC-157

TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4). Enhances healing in tendons, ligaments, muscle, skin, heart, and eyes. It promotes cell migration and proliferation, which complements the angiogenesis from BPC-157. These two together speed up healing dramatically.

GHK-Cu. The copper peptide. Big for skin regeneration, wrinkles, and wound healing. Most commonly used topically. Pair it with BPC-157 for serious skin healing and anti-aging effects.

A growth hormone peptide like Ipamorelin. You could also use Tesamorelin, CJC-1295, or actual HGH. Elevating growth hormone supports collagen synthesis and tendon and ligament repair. Ipamorelin is mild, which makes it a solid starter.

That combination of BPC-157, TB-500, and a GH peptide is sometimes called the Wolverine Stack. My friend Jay Campbell coined that one. If you're trying to heal from an injury fast, that's the protocol.

My Take

BPC-157 is the peptide I'd hand to almost anyone. It's safe, well tolerated, and the upside is enormous. Healing, gut repair, brain inflammation, mood, anti-aging, all from one compound.

I've used it for years and I'm not stopping. If you're new to peptides, this is the gateway. Start at 250 mcg, see how you feel, and go from there.

Hey everybody, this is Hunter Williams. I hope you are doing amazing wherever you're at in the world. Today's video is going to be BPC 157, everything you need to know to get started. So this will be my best attempt at a comprehensive video of how to use Bpc 156, what you should know about it, are there any concerns, and what ways you can use it. what dosage of VPC-157 to take, how to reconstitute Vpc- 157, and as a little bonus, I'm going to include some peptides that you can include to work synergistically

with VPc 15 7, but you're gonna have to stick around to the end to see that part of the video. Or I guess you could click on the chapter timestamps and go there if you want to skip ahead. But anyway, that being said, If you're new here, welcome. My name is Hunter. I talk about peptides, hormones and fat loss. And today I'm going to be talking about BPC 157. So thank you so much for coming to the channel. Um, I hope that you would like comment, subscribe, and share this video with other people that may find it useful as it helps push it out to other like us that are interested in these topics. Before I get started, do have something called the peptide cheat sheet that I built, which is everything that know for the most part about peptides that

condensed down to one sheet to tell you how to use them, what to us them for, how much water to put in the vial for certain peptides, How much to draw out with an insulin syringe. So you can download that down in description below and you'll sign up for my email list. I also have a discount code to a bunch of different supplement sources and research chemicals, but you need to signup to get that list as well down below. Without further ado, thank you so much for tuning in and what I'm going to do is share my screen and we're going get started today on PPC-157. So this is PTC- 157, the origin mechanisms, benefits, side effects, dosage and use cases.

Where did PBC-1507 come from? So the way we use it is as a synthetic peptide. It's composed of 15 amino acids. It is, however, derived from human gastric juice, meaning that the BPC-157 you'd use in a vial is not from some other human, but we have Bpc- 157 in our own stomachs, in own gastroc juice in the stomach. Research began on this in early 1990s. So as far as peptides go, it's one of the OG peptide, so to speak. And it was initially studied for its healing properties, which is what most people know it for today.

So obviously it's part of a larger class of compounds called peptides, which I love to talk about and have a bunch of info on. The main focus with VPC is its regenerative medicine applications. So it definitely is well known for its regeneration property properties. Um, it's been developed through extensive biochemical research. Um and basically what it does is is aimed at mimicking natural healing compounds in the body. And it is not naturally found in foods or as a dietary supplement so you will have to use it as peptide.

Now you can inject it or you could use orally but it will be more effective if you do inject. So what are the mechanisms by which BPC works? So the first thing that is well known for and the people love it for so much is that it promotes angiogenesis for tissue healing. So basically angio genesis is the formation of new blood vessels and new, um, blood cells in the area. Bpc 157 helps with that. It also influences growth factors for muscle and tendon repair. So, when you tear a muscle, tear tendon or a ligament, I always almost mix up tendon and ligaments.

Sometimes I say tigament and linden when it's ligamen and tendon, but it influences the growth factors for muscle and tendin repair. So it helps repair muscles. It also protects organs and counters toxin damage. It's no secret we were exposed to lots of toxins in our environment today and BPC-157 does wonders to protect against that, which is why I do personally and think that everyone should at least use it in some capacity as a prophylactic because of all the nasty toxins out in the environment. And obviously it enhances the body's natural healing process and it modulates the inflammatory response, meaning that we have inflammation from something,

whether it's an injury, muscle stress or anything like that. Bpc- 157 helps with that as well. Like we talked about, it accelerates wound healing. It's often known as part of the Wolverine stack, which we'll talk about a little bit later in the video. The other thing that people don't really talk, about I've been one of people that's been tooting the horn on this with BPC 157 as someone that has suffered from a lot of concussions earlier in my life, is that it positively affects neurotransmitter systems. People are pretty inflamed today, and our bodies are inflame, but our brain is also inflammed.

And with that, that causes a lot of these things like anxiety, depression, mood disorders, all those things. So BPC 157 works really well to help with neurotransmitter systems and eventually improve mood and inflammation in the brain. It also may improve collagen synthesis, which is basically just repair of, you know, the soft tissue in It can stabilize gut integrity and function. So one of the biggest things, especially if you use it orally, it works like this if injected, but it worked really well when it comes to healing the gut.

People with Crohn's, leaky gut, IBS, all those different problems that people have with their stomach. It works really to help with those as well. Um, and like I kind of mentioned a little bit earlier, it shows potential in neuro protection and brain health. Uh, so whether again, that's slowing down inflammation in the brain, stemming the tide of neurodegenerative disease, healing, traumatic brain injury, all those things that relate to brain inflammation, uh, BBC one 57 does a really, really good job of working to squash that inflammation of the bring. And I can personally attest that I've been using it for years now and it does wonders.

not only for inflammation in the brain, but also for mental health too. And that's outside of using hormonal optimization, which obviously helps. But I have noticed when I use BPC 157, I the most clear headed days or really weeks following the use of it. So it is amazing for that. I think everyone should be on it, especially in light of all the mental problems that are out there today. Um, so what are the benefits kind of whenever those, but, uh, like we said, it accelerates muscle and tendon healing. Um it aids in the treatment of GI disorders.

It helps in also healing skin burns. So if you have burns on your skin, um, you can use it there improves dental health. You'll notice I lean a lot on peptides, but they help keep me away from the doctor, so to speak, in some cases the dentist. So I haven't been to the dentists in years. Now, if I went to dentist, they'd probably tell me I have cavities, which I don't think is true because I think they want to make money off of me. But it definitely improves dental health because it's helping, you know, with inflammation in the body. Like we mentioned, there's neuro protective properties.

And this is again, one of the very lesser known aspects of BPC 157 is that it may reduce symptoms of depression. So a lot of times depression is a symptom of inflammation in the body, meaning that we may have inflammation and the stomach or the brain that is causing poor mood so that's a signal that the body is sending it's like hey something is wrong here i'm depressed because there's an underlying condition that is causing inflammation so we take ppc 157 it helps heal this inflammation thereby alleviating symptoms of depression i think anxiety too um there is also

the potential benefit for heart health so because it is helping with angiogenesis which is the formation of new blood vessels it helping get oxygen to areas of the body. And so we know one of best things for heart health is to help oxygenate the blood to make sure that our blood has a requisite amount of oxygen. A lot of disease comes from not being able to get oxygen in the Blood to the areas in our body that we need it. We can also improve gut health and treat ulcers. So for people that have ulcerers, I think of what's it called like ulcera of colitis, things like that.

It works, works miracles for that I just wish I knew people in my personal life that had these problems that could get to use it, but there's kind of still stuck in their old ways. It is useful in orthopedic and sports medicine. I personally witness people that I know use this to heal sports injuries and recover, you know, conservatively 30% faster. But in some cases I would say like, in like a third of the time that it would take to recover from other injuries. So it works wonders for that. In a lot of cases, it helps prevent them from having surgery.

Whether it's like torn ligament, tendon, something that they're told they need surgery on. I always recommend, hey, use BPC-157 first, worst case scenario, it doesn't hurt. And then you may end up preventing yourself from having to have surgery. So it also has shown promise in treating autoimmune diseases. It's no secret that auto immune disease is rampant today. We have ramped auto-immune disease in our world and Bpc- 157 helps stem the tide of that. A lot of autoimmune disease can just be traced back to inflammation in the body. Inflammation, I'll say insulin resistance, too.

A lot of people don't realize that there are a lot autoimmune diseases from insulin resistant. But BPC-157, because it helps suppress inflammation, is going to help with some of those auto immune diseases. So it can't be all good, right? Well, i would say 99.9%, but there some side effects. For the most part, it's generally well tolerated in humans. Obviously, this hasn't been around for 200 years. We can say whether it has long-term side-effects or not. I personally use it. i know people that personally used it for decades and have no issues whatsoever. Um, some people report some GI discomfort.

And my thought on that is that it is healing the stomach. So in a lot of cases it's cleaning out the inflammation in the. Stomach, which can result in some like detox symptoms. Um. You know, I'm not going to go into that in this video, but, uh, detox, symptoms are real, meaning that when your body's detoxifying things, it can, Uh, have, almost like a flu like symptom state in Some people obviously this is with any peptide that you're going to use some people can get injection site reaction so it might like burn a little bit for a few seconds after the injection you might get like a Little few red bumps right around the Injection

site again. That's completely normal You know and it's very transient and goes away Um, there's been no significant toxic effects reported that we know of. Um you know, obviously there is a potential that it could interact with other medications. I think the beauty of BPC 157 is it helps you get off a lot of those other medication you need. We don't really know as far as use in pregnant women or breastfeeding women. Uh, I can't imagine that would be detrimental, but you now I cant tell you to go out and do it if you're either of Obviously,

it's not approved by health and regulatory bodies because they can't patent it because it is a natural amino acid sequence. You can patent BPC-157. Thus, there is no vested interest in making it part of mainstream medicine. So, you know, allergic reactions are always possible with peptides. And the only side effect is you do get antibody buildup to the use of peptide, including BFC- 157, so if you're using it for longer than, I would say like 12 to 16 weeks at a time, It's going to come less effective.

Your body's gonna have basically an immune response, which doesn't mean you're gonna get sick or anything like that. But basically, it's just gonna render the peptide ineffective when it introduced exogenously to the body. So you gonna cycle on and off of it. And that's with all peptides, just not BPC 157. If it is not a bioidentical hormone, chances are you are going have to cycle off and on of something. Now, everybody's favorite part, what does the dosage show? Dosages can be all over the place. I would say like the starter dose is 250 micrograms. So if you're just getting started, you just want to play around with peptides.

You know, BPC-157 is a great gateway peptide, meaning it gets you into the game, so to speak. But dosages range from 250 mcg up to, Yeah, excuse me, one milligram per day. Um, you know, and you can use it multiple, uh, times throughout the day now, those doses are actually the same for the oral formulations of VPC. So typically like in an oral formulation, You're going to take 250 to 500 micrograms. You know obviously start low and slow. If you're a beginner, it kind of depends on the individual condition.

if you just looking to like kind to stem overall inflammation in the body, um, I would stay, like 250 micro grams, just keep it low, keep your body like, in a state of, like receptivity to it from a receptor standpoint and kind of titrate from there. Now, if you have an injury, you're going to want to start on the higher side. So if your just had a surgery or going into a injury or have something like a torn muscle or anything like that, You could definitely start with 500 micrograms and I would probably recommend up to like one to two milligrams per day.

So obviously consult your doctor. Frequency can vary. So you can do this like morning and night. You know, higher doses are used in medical studies. And we haven't really seen anyone overdose that I could find in my research or just my own anecdotal experience of coaching a lot of people on peptides. So typically, in terms of reconstitution, you're going to get a 10 milligram vial, typically when you order BPC-127. So my recommendation is to put two milliliters of bacteriostatic water into that vile. And that is now five milligrams per milliliter.

If you wanted a 250 microgram dose, You would basically just use five units on an insulin syringe, which is a very, very small amount. Again, five out of 100 units of the typical one milliters insulin small amount if you wanted 500 micrograms you would do 10 units so um very little that you need to inject and you can put as much bacteriostatic water as you want in there but just for ease of use um you know like that's what i would recommend to people Now, what are the use cases? So when should you use BPC 157? Definitely if you're an athlete, if have injury recovery, 100%. Obviously check your governing regulatory authority of

your sport, but BCC 156 works amazing for injury, recovery. It's beneficial for people with GI distress or issues. So if any sort of GI issues, even if haven't been diagnosed with something, which your digestion is just off or constipated or you know, have the runs or whatever. BBC 157 works great. Orthopedics for tissue injury healing, dental health management, skin and burn care. It also is, this is one of the vastly overlooked.

I wish this was like more of a go-to treatment for depression and brain health and mental health, but BBC 147 Works wonders for people that are suffering from like mental-health issues. You know, again, if you have an autoimmune disease, it's only going to help. Again, is being investigated for its use in heart disease and anti-aging. Obviously all of this kind of is a one-stop shop for anti aging. If you do all this stuff, you minimize inflammation in the body and you help with insulin signaling, as you're going, to by default help, with anti ageing. And again if, have any sort of surgery that you are scheduled to do or that, I would always, always always have BPC one for seven if I had to have surgery

on something. You know, I will Always, Always have bbc one seven in my original things that I wouldn't be taking in conjunction. Now, everyone's favorite part so what can you stack bpc 177 with so one of the most common questions I get is. What can I stack? What peptides can stack and there are three that primarily would go with BPC-157. So the first one is going to be thymus and beta-4 or otherwise known as TB-500. TB 500 is known for its ability to enhance healing, especially in tendons, ligaments, muscle, skin, heart, and eyes.

Sound familiar? Just like Bpc. It works well with BBC and accelerating wound healing and reducing inflammation. And it also promotes cell migration and proliferation, which complements the angiogenesis promoted by PPC-127. So with BPC, we get the Angiogensis, and then the TB-500 we gets cell-migration proliferations, so those work synergistically together to even make healing from injury or just any sort of damage to the physical body that much faster. Now another one, people don't realize as much but there's one called GHKCU.

So this is the copper peptide zone for skin regeneration and wound healing properties. This is much more commonly used in topical applications for the skin because it helps with wrinkles and fine lines, all that stuff that we all love to do to keep our face pretty. But it can be combined with BPC-174 enhanced skin healing and anti-aging effects. And the last one, I put Ipamerelin on here, but you could really use Tessamerelin. You could use human growth hormone. you can use any growth-hormone peptide.

So growth hormones are cretogog, growth, hormone-releasing hormone, Growth hormone releasing peptides. But I just put it for melon because that's usually like a good gateway peptide just like PPC one seven is. But if, for instance, I was trying to heal from an injury, i'd never use peptides. These are the three go tos that I would use in conjunction with PTC. So, if around is another growth hormone releasing peptid that works synergistically with BPC 17 for muscle growth and repair. So it's considered one of the milder GRH RP is making a good choice for those seeking fewer side effects. Um, but basically when we elevate growth hormone levels in the body, that's going to help with collagen synthesis and, uh,

tendon ligament, and all that stuff. And from a healing standpoint, um, so I definitely throw in some epinephrine. So. That is also otherwise known by the Wolverine stack coin by my good friend of his business partner, Jay Campbell. Um, he's kind of the, uh, promulgator of that, at least it goes on the internet. So, um, that is basically BPC one 57 in a nutshell. That everything you can stack it with. Hopefully that was helpful to you guys. Uh, hopefully I covered everything that you need, just to get started and to kind make you feel safer about using PPC and why you would use it.

But if you have questions, comments, concerns, anything like that, comment below and let me know your thoughts. Let me what you guys are thinking and if this was helpful to you or not. And as always, don't forget, sign up for my email list. You can download the peptide cheat sheet. Sign up from my supplement source and you'll get all those goodies.
