Shred Fat With AOD-9604 How To Use For Optimal Results
AOD-9604 is making a comeback. This was one of the popular fat loss peptides before the GLP-1s took over, and lately I've been getting a lot of questions about it again. So here's everything you need to know, where it came from, how it works, how to dose it, and what to stack it with.
Where AOD-9604 Came From
AOD-9604 stands for Anti-Obesity Drug 9604. It was developed at Monash University in Australia as a fragment of the human growth hormone amino acid chain, specifically amino acids 176 to 191 at the C-terminus of HGH.
The whole idea was to take the fat-burning properties of human growth hormone and put them into a peptide without the side effects people complain about with HGH itself. Things like raised blood sugar or concerns about excessive growth.
It went through several stages of clinical trials and got real interest from the pharmaceutical industry. Then the GLP-1s came along and basically overshadowed it because they were better at suppressing appetite.
How It Works
AOD-9604 mimics natural growth hormone when it comes to fat metabolism, but without the effects on insulin sensitivity. Here's what it actually does in the body.
It promotes lipolysis, which is the breakdown of fats. It also inhibits lipogenesis, meaning it prevents non-fat foods like carbohydrates from being stored as body fat. On top of that, it increases your overall energy expenditure.
It also helps with cartilage regeneration, similar to HGH. One difference from HGH, it does not affect muscle mass or blood sugar levels. So you're not going to build muscle on it the way you would with actual growth hormone.
Compared to GLP-1s though, you're going to hold onto muscle much better on AOD. The truth is, what causes muscle loss on GLP-1s is not eating enough protein and not resistance training. AOD just doesn't have that same risk pound for pound.
The Benefits
The main reason people use it is weight loss, especially stubborn abdominal fat around the belly. It also boosts your metabolic rate, which helps overall calorie burn.
Some people notice appetite changes. Growth hormone can be a catch-22 because it increases fat burning but can also increase appetite, so you eat more.
Other benefits people report:
- Better cardiovascular health
- Improved mood and mental wellbeing
- More energy and less fatigue
- Better sleep
- Lower stress
- Stronger immune function
A lot of these are really just downstream benefits of growth hormone activity. You're not going to get them at the same level as actual HGH, but you'll get some of it.
Side Effects
This one was specifically designed to be side effect free, and it mostly is. The typical peptide stuff applies. Injection site reactions, redness, swelling, occasional headaches, flushing, mild nausea.
Fatigue is one worth talking about. A lot of people feel tired in the first two to three weeks of HGH or HGH-fragment peptides like AOD. What's happening is your body is in a state of cellular remodeling. Think about being a baby. You ate and you slept because IGF-1 levels were high and you were growing.
These peptides put your body back into that kind of regeneration mode. The fatigue isn't a bad sign. Your body just needs more rest while it's renewing.
How to Dose AOD-9604
Start at 250 micrograms per day in a fasted state, subcutaneous injection. You can titrate up to 500 micrograms per day, but 250 is a solid starting point for most people.
I'd run it five days on, two days off. That's the rule of thumb with growth hormone peptides, but you could do it every day if you want.
If you go up to 500 micrograms, split it. 250 in the morning, 250 in the evening. The PM dose can help you sleep deeper. If you only do one shot a day, do it in the morning.
For cycling, run it eight weeks on, eight weeks off. You could technically run it longer, but you'll get an antibody buildup somewhere around eight to twelve weeks where it stops being as effective. You'd have to keep upping the dose, and eventually that gets cost prohibitive. Better to cycle off and come back.
What to Stack With AOD-9604
I would not run AOD by itself. If you're using it, you're using it for fat loss, so build a stack around that goal.
Tirzepatide. This is my top pairing. It enhances weight loss and supports metabolic function. Originally people stacked AOD with semaglutide, but tirzepatide is the better tool now.
Ipamorelin. Complements AOD by further supporting fat loss, sleep, and recovery.
BPC-157. Especially useful if you're training harder during your fat loss phase. Keeps joints, tendons, and ligaments feeling good.
For your eight weeks off AOD, you can run tirzepatide on its own, or rotate through ipamorelin or tesamorelin. You've got options.
My Take
AOD-9604 is not a worthless peptide. If you're new to peptides you'll probably get a real benefit from it. I just think there are better tools in the tool belt now.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd put tirzepatide at a 9 for fat loss. AOD is probably a 6 or 7. But if you stack them together you can get really good results.
If you want to add AOD as a boost to a fat loss protocol, go for it. If you only have the budget for one peptide and your goal is fat loss, I'd put your money into tirzepatide first.

Hey everybody, this is Hunter Williams. I hope you are doing amazing wherever you or at in the world today. Today's video is gonna be everything you need to know about AOD9604, which is a fat loss peptide that seems to be making a resurgent. This was a little bit of an older one, I guess it's probably three or four years old. this was one that was kind of before the popularity of the GLP ones that people would use for fat laws. So today I'm just gonna teach you everything that you know to about it. where it came from, what it does, how to use it, all that good stuff.
So that's what we're going to jump into today. First of all, if you're here, thank you so much for checking out the channel. It's been growing so lately. Maybe YouTube lifted the shadow ban or whatever. But I do want to preface by saying, If you have questions about this, please drop them in the comments if the comment are there. Know that if comments are off, YouTube has been turning off a lot of my comments lately, which is kind of annoying, but I guess they don't want the videos to trend or rank an algorithm. Just know if the comments are off, I do my best to turn them back on, but for whatever reason, they toy with my comments and turn then off. And as always, you can download the peptide cheat sheet down below to sign up for my email list and I'll send you a PDF with the Peptide Cheat Sheet.
I don't think AOD is on there as far as a dosing and stuff, we're going to talk about that. today and how you would use it when it comes to dosing and administration and everything like that. So that's what we're going to be talking about today. It's going be everything you need to know about AOD in hopefully 20 minutes or less. I'm going break that down. What I want to do is go over and share my screen and let's get started. Oh yeah, and before I start, you may notice a different background. Actually just moved into a new house. This will be my setup from now on.
will probably have all my books and stuff behind me once I get those like unpacked and everything. But I am in a new house, so this is going to be the new studio. So hopefully the sound, the lighting, and all that good stuff is to your liking. And if it's not, I'm sorry. Anyway, let's hop over to the screen and talk about AOD9604. All right, this is a comprehensive overview of AOD9604. So we're just gonna talk about the origin mechanisms, benefits, side effects, and dosage as always and some other peptides that I would recommend you stack
with Aod if you are going to use it. Let's look at what we've got today. So AOD 9604, which actually stands for anti-obesity drug 9 604 was developed as a fragment of the human growth hormone amino acid chain. So the peptide was inspired by the fat burning properties of human-growth hormone, Which I can attest to work very well. But basically it was originally conducted as research by Monash University in Australia. and it consists of the amino acids 176 to 191 at the C-terminus of HGH.
So it was designed to mimic the fat metabolism properties of human growth hormone without affecting blood sugar levels or promoting growth. One of beefs people have with human-growth hormone itself is that it's going to raise your blood-sugar and then potentially cause you to grow too much or cause cancerous growth or something like that, which most of which is not true. There are really, really good benefits to supplementing with But the objective in designing this peptide was to take all of the fat-burning properties
of human growth hormone and put them into one peptides without any of negative side effects. So there's been various stages of clinical trials and there has been a lot of interest in the pursuit of this from the pharmaceutical industry. But it was kind of just over foreshadowed, or excuse me, overshadowed by a lot of the GLP-1. So it kind came on, it caught fire, and then the GOP1s came and they just ended up being better at suppressing people's appetite. So how does it work? So it basically mimics the natural growth hormone in regulating fat metabolism without the adverse effects on insulin sensitivity.
So, it works by promoting the breakdown of fats in the body, which is on its lipolysis. It also helps with lipogenesis inhibition, so it prevents the transformation of non-fat food materials into body fat, think carbohydrates. And it also increases the bodies energy expenditure, It also helps with cartilage regeneration, so it does help with that the same way that human growth hormone would help. With cartilage regeneration it is not affect muscle mass or blood sugar levels, which kind of makes it different from HGH in that sense,
because HTH is definitely going to help you build muscle. which I think everybody should want to do, but in relation to maybe some of the GLP-1s, which supposedly cause muscle loss, really what causes muscle lost is not eating enough protein and not resistance training, as opposed to those, you definitely, if just pound for pound, are not going to see as much muscle losses as you would from a GLp-one peptide. And then we've got receptor interactions that act on specific receptors related to fat loss and metabolism. And so the thought was to basically just give a safer alternative to traditional growth hormone therapy, specifically for fat lost.
So what are the benefits? So obviously we have weight loss. It's primarily used for significant potential and promoting weight lost, it also helps with fat reduction. so it works especially effective in reducing stubborn abdominal fat, especially around the belly area. Then we've got metabolic rate. So it helps enhance the metabolic rates contributing to overall calorie burn. It helps with appetite regulation so it may influence appetite and food intake. Some people will say that growth hormone increases their appetite. You know it's a catch-22 because it increases fat loss but then it will increase your appetite as well so you really burn more fat because you're hungry
so eat more. It also helps with cardiovascular health. So it's going to improve cardiovascular Health and reduce the risk of heart disease, which obviously is still the number one killer of people improves moods that may contribute to improved mood and mental well being. And obviously, if you are thinner, you're going To feel better about yourself. It can provide a boost of energy and combat fatigue. It could also help with better sleep. This is going to help reduce stress and help the immune system. All of which you would really say are just benefits of growth hormone itself, but because it's kind of like a fragment of human growth hormones,
it is gonna help do some of those things. Obviously not at the level that actual human hormone will. But if you're going use it, that is probably gonna be some benefits you have. Moving along, what are the side effects? So this one, there really is no side-effects. I mean, it was designed to have basically like a side effect free experience for users, which obviously every drug would want, but not everyone does. But basically you're just gonna have the typical, like with every peptide does talk about the typically side affects. You've got injection site reactions, pain, redness or swelling of the injection side.
If you've had headaches, some people just got like headaches or flushing, then nausea, and then fatigue. So the fatigue is interesting because that's something that usually and the first two to three weeks of HGH supplementation of, you know, human growth hormone itself, people experience fatigue. And what's happening is because you're raising growth, hormone and raising IGF-1 levels, uh, your putting the body in a state to it was like when it, was a baby. If you think about being a, baby, You ate and you slept. The reason is cause your IG-F1 level is so high because your were growing.
And all these HEH peptides, HEHS itself, AOD, for example, tend to make people more tired in the first couple of weeks because there is cellular remodeling going on where your body's kind of going through this transformation process. And in doing so, it needs to rest. It's not a bad thing. it's just the side effect for the sake of making you tired. Um, it's basically like helping your body re renew and regenerate. So, but other than that, you know, typical side effects of peptides, just, like pain, swelling, itschiness, the site, nausea,
headaches, flushing. But other that really nothing with this specific one. Then we've got dosing. So what is the dosings? I would start off at 250 micrograms per day in a fasted state. Now, you can titrate that up to 500 micro grams per days, but I think 250 is a really, really good starting point for people. This is done via subcutaneous injection to basically just reconstitute the bile. Inject 250 micrograms per day. I would do five days on, two days off.
That's just always kind of like the rule of thumb with growth hormone peptides, but you could do it for every single day if you wanted to. You could this twice a day, so if wanted do 500 micro grams, you can do 250 morning and 250 evening. Think that would probably benefit you a little bit more as it relates to sleep. Not that it's gonna make you sleepy, it will help you sleep deeper if take it at night. So you do AM and PM, if only you're gonna do one, I'd say do the AM. So you just kind of play with it and see from there, but I think 250, 500 for most people is going to be the sweet spot.
And then as always with all peptides you want to cycle on and cycle off. So, you wanna use this for eight weeks and then come off for 8 weeks. The reason being, again you could use the whole year and arguably derive good benefits from it. But as always with peptides, you're gonna get an antibody buildup response. And typically somewhere in like eight to 12 weeks is when the body will really start to like kick in and you just gonna have to up the dose or come off of it for it to stay effective. You could up to those, but again, your gonna keep upping and keep up and uping the dos to eventually like where it just becomes cost prohibitive to keep
using it and then you need to cycle off. So I would say like use it eight weeks on and eight week off And that leads me to my next point, which is stacking peptides, because people say, well, what do I do in the eight weeks off? So here's what we are going to do. So let me move my screen around. The first one I would do it with is Trisapatides. Being a growth hormone peptide, I always recommend people use a Growth Hormone Peptide with Trasapatide to help support the fat loss and help to support muscle maintenance during your fat-loss phase. Traspatide is going enhance weight loss effects and improve metabolic function.
You could also use ipamerelin alongside AOD. So this complements Aod by further permitting fat loss and eating and recovery. And then as always, you can use BPC-157. That's just going to help, especially if you're exercising more, help keep your joints and tendons and ligaments feeling good for joint health and recover. As far as the stacking strategy goes, You could use all three of those together. You can look up the dosing because I have videos on all those different peptides. there, but they just work synergistically. So like if I were going to use AOD, I would definitely not just use it alone.
Like I will just not run that as the one peptide. Again, if you're using it, you are probably using for fat loss, so I'd use along trisapatite. You know, originally semaglutide was used along Aod. It was very common to Aody along semiglutaride, and now we have trizapatide so it's better. If you were going to use it, I'd definitely throw in Trisapatite, especially with fat loss being the goal. And then if you come off for eight weeks, you could use AOD for 8 weeks and then Trasapatide for a week, or you can use a Aod for three weeks in an epimerellin for 3 weeks. So you got to end up being a one that makes that call yourself, but you would use some of these other fat-loss peptides.
while you are off of AOD. So obviously you kind of have to like play with the dosing and stuff as it relates to that. That's pretty much it. This was everything you needed to know about Aod. Let me pull down my screen. So that was everything you need to know about AOD. If you want my kind of opinion, I think it's not a worthless peptide. I just think there's better tools in our tool belt that we can use. And it seems like this one's been making a resurgence lately, just because I thing across the internet now, Jay Campbell and I probably have the largest
sample size of people that talk to and coach on peptides. We've been getting a lot of questions about AOD lately. So I wanted to make a video on it, and just kind want to lay out my thoughts on It's good. It is useful. If you're new to peptides, you are definitely going to get a benefit from it. I just think there's other ones out there. There's hepatites that are going be better for fat loss. You know, ipameralin, testimelan, those are gonna be for the growth hormone effects that help create fatloss and help with muscle maintenance and muscle gain and everything. So I think that there are better ones there, but if you wanted something to throw in to maybe get boost as it relates to fat lost,
definitely throw an AOD. There's ones out there, if you're going to spend the money and you inject yourself, that you'll get better bang for your buck. So that's my thoughts. Again, it's not bad, but there's just things out that I think on a scale of 1 to 10, like turge appetite, 9 out of 10 for fat loss. AOD is probably like a 6 or 7. But if use both of them together, you can get really good benefits. That's my thoughts on AOD. If you have questions about this, like reconstituting, any of that stuff, drop them below.
I'm more than happy to answer questions. And as always, don't forget to check out the peptide cheat sheets from my email list.
